GDPR (General
Data Protection Regulation) states that organisations (and individuals who are
recording areas that reach outside the boundary of their private property) must
notify people (employees, customers, bystanders, pedestrians, etc.) that they
are taking their data. One way of doing this is by putting up a CCTV warning
sign.
Where should
CCTV warning signs be placed?
The signs
should make it clear that CCTV is in operation, and should be displayed where
they can be seen, such as your office or shop window. The signs could also help
to improve your security by acting as a deterrent.
